Academic and Research Background

Katrin Micklitz lives in Berlin and works at the intersection of research, coaching, and consulting. From 2012 to 2014, she completed a Master of Studies in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) at the University of Oxford (UK) and was trained as an MBCT instructor at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. From 2017 to 2022, she completed her PhD in Evidence-Based Health Care at the University of Oxford, focusing on mindfulness in the workplace. In addition, she obtained a Certificate in Health Research in 2016. Her work integrates insights from Western and Buddhist psychology as well as cognitive science.

Consulting, Coaching, and Teaching

Katrin Micklitz worked as a Senior Consultant, supporting employees, leaders, and teams from DAX-listed and medium-sized companies in intercultural collaboration. She led the Coaching and Training team in a consulting firm and taught at Goethe-Institutes in Berlin, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as at Humboldt University Berlin and the University of Pittsburgh (USA).

She is a trained Integral Coach and certified intercultural trainer and consultant. She integrates mindfulness into her work to help individuals act with greater awareness and empathy, enhancing well-being in the workplace.

Personal Background and International Experience

Katrin Micklitz enjoys bringing together knowledge from different perspectives – through research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and dialogue. Her academic path began in the 1990s with studies in Art History (M.A.) and German Literature (M.A.) in Germany and the USA, supported by a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). She also spent a summer in Israel on a fellowship from the same foundation. She has been practicing meditation for many years and regularly spends time with her partner in Jerusalem and the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.
